What EnergyHouse.top collects, why, and how to say no
Who is behind this site
EnergyHouse.top is an independent project built and run by the PurpleLabs team. For anything in this policy — questions, requests about your data, complaints — write to purplelabseu@gmail.com.
What we do not collect
The calculator needs no account, and we do not ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details. The parameters you enter — location, building size, insulation, equipment — are processed in your browser and are not sent to our server, unless you deliberately create a share link.
What is processed when you use the site
- Server logs. Our hosting records the usual: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser identification. They are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, nothing else.
- Shared calculations. When you create a share link (/c/…), the parameters of that one calculation are stored under a random identifier so the link works for whoever you send it to. No account is attached to it.
- Analytics. Only if you agree — see the next section.
- Blog and catalog content is served from our own database; reading it requires no data from you.
Analytics: Yandex.Metrika, only after consent
We use Yandex.Metrika to understand which pages are used and where the calculator confuses people. It does not run until you accept it in the consent banner, and it stops being loaded as soon as you withdraw that consent.
When enabled, Metrika sets its own cookies (_ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad, _ym_visorc) and, through the Webvisor feature, records anonymised page interactions — scrolling, mouse movement, clicks. The calculator asks for no personal data, so none appears in those recordings. Metrika is operated by Yandex, which processes the data on its own servers, including outside the European Economic Area.
You can withdraw consent at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Rejecting there also deletes the Metrika cookies already stored in your browser.
Cookies and local storage
- eh_consent (local storage, strictly necessary) — your answer to the consent banner, so we do not ask again on every page.
- Calculator state and language preference (local storage, strictly necessary) — keeps your inputs when you reload the page. Stays in your browser.
- _ym_* (cookies, analytics) — set by Yandex.Metrika, only after consent. Lifetimes are set by Yandex, typically up to 12 months.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Analytics cookies and Webvisor: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
- Server logs and protection against abuse: our legitimate interest in a working, secure site, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Shared calculations: performance of the service you asked for, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Third-party content
Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches them. Product photographs in the catalog are served by the shops that sell the equipment, so those shops likewise see a request from your browser. Links to shops, manufacturers and social networks lead off our site, where their own policies apply.
How long data is kept
- Server logs: a short period set by the hosting provider, normally a few weeks.
- Shared calculations: until you ask us to remove them, or the link is deleted.
- Analytics data: according to Yandex.Metrika retention, typically up to 25 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time without giving a reason, and you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Because we do not run accounts, a request usually needs something that identifies the data — for example the share link in question. Write to purplelabseu@gmail.com.
Children
The site is aimed at people planning energy equipment for a building, not at children, and we do not knowingly process data of children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change what is processed, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. A change that requires consent — a new analytics or advertising tool, for instance — resets the consent banner so you are asked again.
